The Consequences of Spiritual Warfare on Business and Career by Dave Kahle

We’re all familiar with the oft-quoted passage from Ephesians 6 that warns us of spiritual warfare: Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the Devil’s strategies. For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.

Exploring the Church’s Perspective on AI Advancements and Impact on Employment

Mark Virkler's picture

Question from Ashish emailed to me: As you may know, the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are poised to significantly impact the workforce. These technologies are expected to replace many human jobs, leading to widespread unemployment. However, the Bible teaches that those who do not work do not have the right to eat, as stated in 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Given this, I am concerned about the consequences of AI and machine learning advancements on people's livelihoods. I would like to know the Church’s perspective.

Mark Virkler's picture

I knew the "pastor" of my church was a shepherd, but I sure missed the verses where God specifically stated that governmental rulers were also ministers. Mark Virkler's picture

Hearing God’s voice is the beginning of business success.

Recently, Mark Virkler and I had a chance to share stories about hearing God’s voice. When Mark asked who taught me, he was surprised to hear, “No one.” I’d read the book “God Calling” and thought, if those two ladies can do it, so can I! God honored my assumption as I set time aside each day to pray, listen, write what I heard and check it against Scripture. Through that process I learned how to discern the Lord’s voice with clarity. That was 30 years ago. To this day I am increasingly dependent on hearing the Lord’s voice to guide me in all that I do.

A Working Definition of Anointed

Mark Virkler's picture

When I was asked in a seminar this week how I defined “anointing,” I was astounded that I couldn’t answer the question with a precise, clear definition. So I admitted that I couldn’t adequately answer the question, and decided on the spot that I would explore Scripture and get a simple, practical, working definition of what it means to “be anointed.” On reflection, I realize that some believe the anointing is shaking or falling down or roaring or shouting. These may all be responses to the anointing, but what exactly is the anointing?
